Hi everyone,

Got back from another glorious w/end on board. Have decided to get my over the sink water gas heater working. I have not used it for the past couple of years, but losing shore electricity soon. It also gives hot water for the shower.

I turned it on, the pilot light works fine but when the hot tap is turned on nothing happens, it should of course light up, it always used to.

Any members of the team had similar problems, what do you suggest I do - I don't want to get rid of it.

Always very grateful for any replies.

I can't remember the type of sensor used in the Rinnai, but it reminded me of a problem with my home boiler. The water flow switch was a coated metal slug in a housing which moved in the flow to activate a magnetic pickup. Every now and then the thing would fur up and fail so I had to whip it out, fill it with vinegar overnight then refit.
