Does anyone race seriously in handicap fleets using a rig other than bermudian sloop? I remeber some maxis using ketch back in the last century but you never see that now.

Byu the way I am meaning modern boats not the historic / classic lot.

Short answer is no. Several years ago I spent a week as tactician on a 65 foot ketch (no, not despo) at Cowes week. We were so outclassed it was painful.
But as the owner was a member of the squadron, the shoreside entertainment more than made up for it!

I've only ever raced on or against classics with more than one stick. I think I've done a PY type event against a Freedom rig but that's not really relevant either.

To be fair, we have enough arguments about the sail plan on a Bermudan sloop!

Maybe a few wing masted cats and tris?
A few cutters?
American cat rig?

There are skiffs and cats where the top battens almost qualify as gaffs.
