There won't be any drunken late-night posts from Rich for a few days as he is in hospital in England having possible gall-stones investigated. Anyone based near Chase Farm Hospital in Enfield Middx is welcome to go and visit him as I am stuck in Jersey looking after the smallest crew-member. He is in the men's medical unit and is due back to Jersey on Friday, if there's no complications.

Hope he's ok, expect you'll enjoy the peace and quiet ;-)

PS don't they have hospitals on Jersey?

Good luck. I had that. bit painful at the time, but up after a day or so if he needs the op, easier if there is keyhole wassername, and all ok after a few weeks.

I had my gall bladder removed in Guernsey. I notice Marks wife has gone to England for the same. Dont you have any good surgeons in Jersey?

heard from Rich this evening - he's OK and will be back tomorrow. The reason he had to go to England is because the thing they stuck down his throat to have a look is a very specialized one, which has to be used all the time to keep it working, and there isn't the call for it in Jersey. Apparantly it's got a grabber on the end like a faiground crane-type thing, so if they find a gall -stone they can hoick it out on the spot. anyway, the news is there were no stones, so he's probably got to have his gall bladder out. Over to Dom - does it hurt, are you any different without one, and why?

No diff except that your body has to learn to control the toilet functions for the first week or so. Best keep him near a bog.

Stomach will be sore from being blown up and stitches will itch. Prob very tired for a couple of days but will be ok in 2 weeks.

Give him my best and hope he gets well soon.
