Are there any websites where one can find out how fast the Rhone is currently flowing ? We are hoping to head up it soon but have heard some horror stories.

Can help from a number of perspectives, but like others that live and spend much time in France, you may have heard of the catastrophic events with the floods, along with the State of Emergency that the French Government has in place. The Rhone can be very stable, but take all big rivers that have delta type mouths, where water has been collected over great distances and is enhanced when there is much rain.

The links below, may be, a little too much in what you are looking for, but what you seek is taken very seriously by those who make a living off the Rhone. Each of these sites, there are many similar, which could be of interest to you. If you would like, send a PM with more detail, time of year etc, and I will delve deeper.
