"Survive the Savage Sea" by Dougal Robertson, has been revised by his son, with a foreword by Sir Robin Knox-Johnston.
Douglas Robertson,2005, Last Voyage of the Lucette, Seafarer Books Woodbridge Suffolk IP12 2TE
It includes the original text, with additional material from Douglas'and the family's memories and more of Dougal's material which was not in the original.
This makes it pretty long, and so I found it hard to read. I read the original in about 1978, and my attention span is not what it was.
Robin came out looking better in this version, and Dougal worse! He was dictatorial and violent at times (he says so himself) and possibly not as brilliant a seaman as he thought. I thought Robin was probably depicted unfairly in the original, though it is hard to be sure, because the new material is not clearly differentiated from he old.
If the length is a problem, read the beginning, skim to the sinking, and read the end and conclusions.
