Retaping XM Jacket Seams

My probably 13 year old XM waterproof sailing jacket was Tek washed yesterday, sadly a lot of seam tape parted company. Has anyone retaped seams successfully? Our sailing is lake/coastal not sure how much longer we are going to continue and I have several good waterproof cagoules,

I appreciate that the jacket is old and replace with new is the gold option.

remove the tape and try seam seal glue like this.
Bit messy but does the job.

Is it worth it on such an old jacket? Then the zip will go, it'll leak, and generally fall apart again.

Nothing wrong with a bit of gaffer tape.
