We went just after SIBS last year to demo the new Glastron GS219 we were considering buying. Sunny but blew a gale, was a pretty rough ride to say the least. Looked at a few other boats, some of which they've still got now but then got caught by a high tide that cut the island road off for an hour. It's a long drive from here, was worth it though to realise the Glastron wasn't up to much.

I wanted to px mine in for a martinique 39 they had there but when I got there it wasnt as good as I thought it was going to be. It would have been convenient to px, but not for that particular boat

I thought they were a bit overpriced on the boats we looked at tbh, after trying the Glastron and discounting it we went looking at the 2ndhand stuff, looked at a Four Winns 245 that was in need of some tlc but was put off by the price of nigh on £20k, it looked more like £15k's worth to me at the time, would've been October last year.

They've still got it, price now reduced to £16k (although the website says it's new in). Had they priced it better last year we'd have looked at it far more seriously, but then I guess you can't blame them for trying.

I didnt think the prices were too bad as they were also offering a reasonable px value for mine. But from what I've seen is they get new boats in advertise them, then if no takers for 3months then a substantial drop (i.e. the martinique -£20K) and I suppose then is the time to buy.
I quite fancy the bavaria HT they have at the mo and the big camargue 46 at £80K, although I expect I would hit everything going in and out of my berth with that one /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

Discussed p/ex on our 328 for the S37 they had a month or so ago. Conversation ended when they were talking of giving us in the region of 25k for ours against advertised price for theirs. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Interesting comments. They offered me £12k on my Sealine 215, a little low IMHO but it was me that approached them.
I know the sensible thing to do is to sell her first and then go armed with load of wonga, but I "want it now!"
Hopefully the weather will improve soon and my brokers pontoons will be full of interested buyers.
Can't wait to start looking for real! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

To be honest I was tempted until SWMBO pointed out the error of my ways /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif and told me how long it takes to earn a couple of grand /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Well that's £1k more than EBY paid Sealine Sales for the 215 that I p/xd three years back for an S24. EBY subsequently advertised my 215 for £16k with the standard three month warranty. I got a 10% off the price of the S24 too so whilst I may have done better selling privately, my 215 was a bit of a dog and I bit Sealine's hand off when that final offer was made. The p/x value was actually more than I paid for it in the first place.
