Well as some of you may have read my previous postings....

4 viewers 4 timewasters,etc etc

I can confirm that as of a phone call I received at 6.40pm GMT "the surveyor" told my prospective purchaser.....Yep its a goodun.....

The Viewer last Saturday from the I.O.M was very serious,he had a sea trial commented on how the advert did not do the boat justice and made me an offer of the asking price based upon a succesfull survey!!

That was today, and nope I didn't post anything cos I didn't want to jinx myself.

She leaves home (Burry Port) next Tue for her new home on the island, and I'm off darn sarf this coming Fri to view three boats we have shortlisted.

Jezbanks.........I saved myself £15 not posting the pics,but I reckon I owe you a sherbert anyway, /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Cheers

Rob

PS If you would like me to look after a demo boat of yours in Wales then I feel it would not be too much of a hardship /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Depending on how much commision I get per sale of course /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Well done Rob, lets hope some of your good fortune crosses over the Bristol Channel to me in Bristol!
Loads we want to go look at, offered a PX by Essex Boatyards (anyone done this?) but Misty is still for sale!
What are you going to look at?

Glastron 279 (bit pricey) and a Doral 250; both single diesels, can't help but wonder what price they would take without a part-ex, could I save maybe £2 - £3k?

My findings on PX deals are this............
Usually brokers will only PX against a stock boat that they are finding difficult to shift.
You will end up paying top price for the boat and will also lose money on yours.
At the end of the day brokers are there to make a buck and bet your arse on the fact that on a PX deal you are not the one getting a bargain well thats IMHO.
Far better to be able to shake the wonga at a seller and negotiate hard to get the very best deal you can and never ever be afraid to make cheeky offers on craft which are well over your budget because you never know the seller's circumstances and you may get a yes! (important lesson here though is)only ever do this when you are in a position to purchase as you will be tarred with the timewaster tag if unable to complete.

Not sure I'd agree with the part ex statement entirely..

I've part exchange 2 boats now, certainly not loosing money, definitely not on boats that were hard to shift and can honestly say I don't feel I was ripped off on the purchase prices of the new boats, yes maybe I did loose a small amount.. but how much are brokerage fees??

With the first part ex I'd been trying to sell it privately for a few weeks and failed but had agreed to part ex if unsuccessful with the private sale, as luck would have it, the day after the part ex had taken place I had a call from someone wanting to buy it! Was very surprised that the dealer sold it on for exactly the same money has he'd given me!!

Just got to your User Options, you can change your name there, without asking the moderators. It does take a few hours to change, till they check if its allowed.

Well done with the sale, NOW DOES ANYONE WANT A CHEAP SEALINE!!!!!!

Cheers

Al.

Followed an Essex Boatyards boat transporter across the M4 to J33 at Cardiff last night, he came off to go to the services. Looked like a big SeaRay or something on the back, called Carp Diem. Anyone off here having a delivery ?

Yep, that's the one. I thought I recognised it from our trip to EB earlier his year, friends of ours looked at it briefly.

EB to south wales is one hell of a trek by truck...

I went up there on one of the hottest days of the year last year to look at a boat, nice to see so many in one place but god, it was miles, shame they are'nt a bit more central (well, missus will prob think its just as well otherwise I would have upgraded by now !)
