the cleats, mainsheet track etc on my boat are made of alloy and are looking scratched and worn. Rather than replacing these bits of kit, can anybody suggest a way to restore them?
A good quality two pot paint might work, but getting a primer to stick to anodising could be a problem.
My mainsheet track was originally black powder coated and I rubbed it down with 240 grit and applied black enamel. A bit easily chipped in practice, but ok if you dont mind touching it up occasionally.IMHO it depends on how flash the rest of the boat is.
