The windows on my Macwester 26 are badly crazed and I am thinking of replacing them over the winter. The existing windows are held in place by rubber seals which are badly perrished. I am considering having metal frames made. I hope that they will be more secure and also look better than black rubber. Does anyone have any experience of this type of conversion? If so can you recommend any suppliers of window frames on the east coast?

Many thanks,

I had new aluminium framed windows made by Branchsound Ltd/Technautic at Burnham on Crouch. They did a good job for a fair price. I was replacing existing ally windows, but replacing rubber-framed ones should make no difference - just send them a template of the size of each window aperture.
