No problems at all with polypropylene in the core it is essentially wadding to make up the size of the rope too stretchy to have any impact on the strength, very light and doesn't absorb much water, will never see any uv under jacket. Does add a small amount of stretch which is why it's not used on racing boats but for what your after absolutely fine.

Selden's new plastic cars are dramatically better than the old stainless cars with nothing to go wrong. Also considerably cheaper. Would definitely consider upgrading if your having problems.

Changed down from 12 to 10mm no problem and much easier reefing and shake out
