Is there any reason to not use the fuel filter arrangement from a Mitsubishi l200 (2.5 ) on my md21b?

I lost all of last season because of fuel issues and I am not going back to cav filters with rubber rings...

Spin on filters and holders are available from milners 4x4 for small money...

I have never had an issue with air in an l200... Or any engine with spin on filters...

I like, for the ease and lack of spillage when changing elements the Racor 500 series. They are top loading.

Now the Patent has expired they are available from Chinese sources on ebay for under 50 quid.

Genuine Racor elements and seals fit. Those who use them give the thumbs up.

IMHO, its a no brainer.

After a rather fraught moment due to my CAV filter blocking in the entrance to Portsmouth Harbour, I went to a car dump and got a pair of filters from, IIRC a Renault 19. Some taps and bits from ASAP and I now have a pair of spin-on filters on parallel. I run on one and can switch to the other in seconds. I've never had to put it to the test, but I think I could change and bleed one filter while running on the other.

I no longer regard the filters as service items; I only changed them after 10 years because they were getting a bit too rusty.
