Repair yards NM England.

Does anyone, by any chance, have any info, or know of any good/reputable/not too expensive, boat repair yards in NW England, somewhere hopefully between say Maryport nad Fleetwood. Have a 1978 Centaur and suspect I will have to have my Starboard keel dropped and rebedded. Also have a crack in the hull around the 1st Keel bolt, which is outside my somewhat limited technical expertise to repair

Glasson Basin Yacht Co Ltd have done good repair work for me, they are at Glasson Dock near Lancaster, their phone no is 01524 751491. You could also try David Moss at Skipool Creek on the river Wyre. Another possibility is Duddon Marine at Broughton in Furness and I believe there is also a fibreglass boat repairer based in Garstang.

Maryport itself has a yard and Jacksons Marine have just (this summer) opened up a shop in Whitehaven right next to the harbour office on Duke Street. I haven't tried either though!

David Moss does mainly wooden boats but I'm told he did do some difficult GRP work for our boat's previous owner at the bottom of the encapsulated keel (to secure the bottom rudder bearing) and it seems fine to this day!

As a personnel recommendation I would not recommend the yard at Maryport Marina. Heard reasonable reports about the yard at Whitehaven.
