Am overhauling my boat. and am now onto the bodywork (GRP) All those nicks and dents presumably are filled with 'filler' or plastic padding, correct?
trouble is - can't find white filler anywhere at all!!!
Any ideas please (don't tell me I'll have to fill with grey filler then spray over it...surely not!!)

Many thanks in advance.

If all those nicks and dents are in your gelcoat, surely you'd be better of filling them with gel coat? If you spray, you're going to do the whole lot, or is it painted already? If gelcoat..

Given the conversation I had with the guys repairing my hull when I visited this afternoon (who are have just received shipment of gel coat from US) then the best way of matching colour is to go back to manufacturers. There was a tin that came with the boat that was still onboard, but not big enough. If you have one, use that...

Contact Sealine at Kidderminster. They are very helpful and as long as your Sealine isn't too old may have the gel coat to match. The problem is the catalyst, they won't send it through the post...have to collect or obtain somewhere else. I had a lot of help from this forum about 6 months ago on gelcoating technique. Do a search on gelcoat and you should find it.
best of luck, it aint easy

I have a little tube of gel coat/filler whatever stuff in white. Bought it from the chandelers. Quite ok for little bashes and you cant tell after. Of course would not use on big bashes.

If it's only a small amount needed, both Isopon and Plastic Padding
sell white gelcoat filler, should be readily available most auto shops or
chandlers, but have only seen it in small tubes.
