Why spend up to £27 for 5L of Sandtex which is not made for the job when you can buy 750ml of Interdeck ,easily sufficient for a coat this season and a refresher in 5 years ?
There is very little build-up if applied by roller.
There must be many part used tins of Interdeck in the community .( I have white and grey ) I would 'borrow' a little for a test on its 'filling' ability if that is the concern ,before you buy.

I thought long and hard about going down the Santex route, but decided that given the massive amount of effort involved in the preparation sanding the old stuff off I went for the proper paint...

I used Sandtex over Interdeck after scraping off any loose paint. It adhered well so I’m not sure removal of deck paint prior to using Sandtex is necessary.
