Removing Wire From Exhaust Hose

Entirely agree, whats the point in having reinforced hose if you weaken it??
Never heard of it before, if you have the correct size use it as it is intended.

The ends of the hose if left without wire will be the most flexible parts of the hose. The result will then be that any movement from a flexibly mounted engine will be first accomodated by the most flexible part of the hose - that without wire reinforcement.

This may well result in a water leak on its own. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

The wire reinforced hose is used to prevent catastrophic failure of a hard baked rubber which results from high exhaust temperatures due to a short term lack of cooling water.

Its expensive. Its tough to use and its needed. Don't spoil the ship for a drop of sweat.

I think the wire is there to stop it collapsing on itself at tight bends once it gets up to even moderately warm temperatures. If you take a car radiator hose and bend it round too tight a curve, it just kinks. This gets even worse when it gets warm. I don't think its anything more technical than that!

If you are having trouble forcing your exhaust hose into the curve you need, it will almost certainly kink and block itself without the wire. You will probably have to fit an elbow (I know that's an additional pair of joints and is not, in itself, desireable) but it might be the only way! Alternatively, maybe you can find a different waterlock or swan-neck or muffler with an angled entry spout?
