As Conachair says - the condition of the steel hull inside is far more of an issue.
This is always the big question mark with secondhand steel boats of unknown provenance. On my travels I've seen a few ashore laid up with these 'hidden surprises'.
Personally, I'd go over the interior shell with a fine toothcomb. If you find significant corrosion inside I'd have the hull ultrasounded to check the hull thickness.
But I'm not a steel man & there are far more knowledgeable people on the forum.
