As Conachair says - the condition of the steel hull inside is far more of an issue.

This is always the big question mark with secondhand steel boats of unknown provenance. On my travels I've seen a few ashore laid up with these 'hidden surprises'.

Personally, I'd go over the interior shell with a fine toothcomb. If you find significant corrosion inside I'd have the hull ultrasounded to check the hull thickness.

But I'm not a steel man & there are far more knowledgeable people on the forum.

Well thats the thing, inside she's actually quite good, some surface rust below cockpit from rain water and also up for'ed but looks like she's been tarred inside (or that stuff that you use on underbody of a 4x4) and looks quite strong...hull and below waterline anyway...the ceiling needs to be replaced as the wood is **** and there are rust spots on bulkhead tops but again mostly surface stuff me thinks
