I'm wanting to remove the main halyard shackle, but don't know how to remove the pin. See attached picture. Does it hammer out, or what? There is no slot so it can't screw out.
Anyone know how?

The halyard wire has been assembled onto the shackle and swaged into place, so it cannot be easily taken apart.
If you cut the wire with a grinder it could be re-assembled and swaged again if the wire is still in good condition. This will shorten the halyard a little, which may not be a bad thing.
If the other end of the pin is as the end shown it won't drift out, it is rivetted in. You'll have to cut the pin and replace with a clevis pin.It might vary - but on some of these the pin can just be tapped out with a hammer - at least that is how it works on my main halyard shackle

See post 9 , 9 hours before your post.Should do, but from the other side shown in the pic.
If it doesn't, you have lost nothing by trying. I use either an appropriate size nail (masonry are harder) or a broken drill bit.
You will obviously need to clamp the shackle to save your fingers.
