Is it possible to remove hard antifouling (probably with a scraper) completely without damaging the epoxy paint layers? Or is this like winning the lotto....

Saw a professional removing all antifoul last winter.
Used a chemical stripping agent (international paints?) but interestingly put cling film over it one applied. Removed clingfilm only in the area to be immediately scraped. Can anyone advise on best products to use on antifouled GRP hulls.
