The wheel on our walker bay 340 has had it.

The plastic coating is turning back to oil some how. It’s been on the boat on the boat for I guess 12 years and it looks pretty corroded. I’ve soaked it in WD40 and got the retaining nut of but it won’t budge.

Before I test it multiple times with a hammer, is there a recognised technique for freeing a wheel from the shaft that might make it easier, quicker or just less likely to also bugger something else I haven’t thought of?

the other thread on removing the wheel on a princess gives some ideas...

I've had good luck with 3leg puller, tighten as much as you can and then a couple of good smacks with a heavy hammer, worked on MiToS wheels that were there for a good 30+ yrs...

Glad the brute force and ignorance worked. If, in the unlikely event , you run out of either in future, freezer spray from a motor factors is worth a go.
