Due to all four of my Volvo DPH A steering hoses in need of replacement, I'm trying to source the spanner that allows you to undo the top union (it sits in a recess thats hard to get to!)

Does any of the Volvo gurus know what tool is used to be able to undo/slacken the union.

Any advice on part numbers/suppliers of the above would be greatfully appreciated.

What you need is an allen key socket its either 4 or 5mm I can't remember, and a 1/4" drive ratchet, inbetween the hoses there are two allen bolts you take them out and the entire plate comes down then its easy to change the hoses, just make sure you position them correctly before you tighten them and make sure the 4 small o rings on the backside of the plate are there, then refit it.

Hi Jerry, was going to reply and I can give you a hand as im going to be at the yard tomorrow as my mates turbo is coming out on the trolley for a day so maybe see you there, yes its easy once the block is dropped down but you have to do it in order to get at the most difficult one.

Bleeding the hoses and system can sometimes be hard, ive got the info in the van if you need it.

Paul.
