Can any one recommend a reliable professional marine engineer in the Teddington to Maidenhead area. I've heard so many horror stories that I'm not sure where to go to get the level of service you come to expect on dry land but which seems so difficult to find near water. Thanks

I have spent years looking for good engineers and being in the trade it is vital to get good reliable, reasonably priced people. I would highly recommend Volvopaul, he has done alot of work for me this year on various boats and all happy, satisfied customers.

Time management

There are some excellent marine engineers on the Thames but most suffer from the same problem - Time management.
To most, it is either a swear word or just something about which they know nothing. Lovely guys and often very good when you eventually get them on site but never forget to say what YEAR you want the job done!!!!!!

Can depend a little on what you want done. Up to a point an engine is an engine but someone with extensive Perkins/Thorneycroft experience would be, potentially, better at the foilbles of those brands, with a Volvo expert being better with green cast iron from Sweden (or red ofc!)

Such has been advice I've been offered, "contact so and so as you have Perkins engines"

I use Col of this forum, he is an excellent engineer. Nice bloke too.

Thanks for all your comments everyone, it's my first time on the site so I just need to figure out how to make contact with Col or VolvoPaul. Cerisebleu
