Never mind the knockers, we've been doing that since we started cruising years ago. Refilling is not only cheaper, it's a damned sight more environmentally sensible. Obviously not of interest to some above!

Re: Viz handy hints and tips

[ QUOTE ]
Why not drill a hole in your fridge door so you can check to see if the light goes off when you close it?

[/ QUOTE ] Now why didn't I think of that. Ours often doesn't go out so I have had to buy an electronic bleaper thing to warn us otherwise all the things on the top shelf are warm. Trouble is I can't hear the bleaper thing but the rest of the family can and it annoys them so much they take it out and hide it in a drawer.

BTW I took the top off the pepper mill to refill it. Now it falls off every time we use it.

Have just found that by using the side of a normal desert spoon you can lever off the plastic grinder part and refill.
Helpfull ?

Steve
Actually if you just heat the black part of the plastic grinder with a blow dryer it comes off really easily. here where I come from Schwartz pepper grinders cost 6 euros.

I wish I'd known of this thread! I was so mad when I found Schwartz salt and pepper grinders were not refillable and I had to throw them away. So wasteful!
