How about some ideas to reduce outgoings for the next few months?
I'll start with SORNing my car. No point in having two cars on the road. Almost end of the month so the car most expensive to tax is now sorned.
I don't have any club/gym/golf memberships but I suspect a few on here may have.

Good point Talulah !
One thing to watch out for is ordering stuff on websites (e.g Screwfix) the system points out that it is open for essential items on click and collect or home delivery. It lets you order , charges your card and then says dont come to collect until we SMS you that items are ready - several days later and no text ! SO I am now claiming money back but not holding my breath. On another site I ordered an expensive item on line, they debited my card and when I chased delivery I was told it was half made and would be completed sometime but no idea when. I know its difficult for everyone but if you are skint be careful or you may use up your credit with nothing to show.

That makes Pizza very expensive for what it is. So no more pizza.

This is a reply more appropriate for the lounge than scuttlebutt because I suspect I'd have difficulty doing this with a galley oven but...do consider making pizza. I started when I discovered the pizza place near the flat I was renting had a food hygiene rating of 1. You don't need to do the twizzly stretch thing, you can roll out the dough. It can take a few goes to perfect but is worth the effort

Of course home made pizza often turns out as expensive as delivery because you start using high quality ingredients rather than some cheap sauce in a vat.

Unfortunately the vultures stripped the bread making aisles a couple of weeks ago but maybe it's stocked back up now. No pizza for me for a while as I got caught in lockdown while trying to arrange food delivery for elderly parents who won't eat any of that funny foreign muck.

Very important thread; thank you, Tallulah.

My fuel bill has dropped. Pity about the yacht club subs and the Marina dues.

That wouldn’t be Philip Allen’s Tallulah, by any chance?
I don’t know Philip Allen. But I have seen two other boats with the same name.
My wife’s car (Aygo) averages 1500 miles a year. She commutes by underground.

Not eating out
Not going to pubs
Not driving anywhere
Not going to cinemas, theatres etc
Not buying coffees and snacks whilst out
Not wearing out good clothes
Saving on shoe leather
Not paying for ferries to go to my boat in France
Not paying for diesel for the boat
No wear and tear on the boat's gear
etc etc

Exactly, my outgoings have been reduced significantly now that I can't go out and enjoy myself  .... and with beer here around €1 a bottle I can see there being a large number of functioning alcoholics at the end of this ....

Ah you're in Bavaria! I hadn't noticed before.

We had two wonderful holidays there many years ago in Garmisch-Partenkirken. Mountain walking, lake swimming,.....

We must go again when 'all this' is over.
