Is that the original Arethusa? the one the bow figure in the village belongs to!
I ask as my father in law trained on it when it was a borstal (i think) ship.

The original ship is now in New York, restored (less figure head) and has been returned to her original name of Peking.

This was taken by me as the boat left Ramsate on the Saturday. I was so sea sick on the trip round from the Medway the previous night, I took the day off.

This was on our return to Upnor and you can just make out the masts of the Montomery in the distance.

High jinks.....

Sorry about the poor quality but they're old photos that I've scanned.

I'd also like to mention, I wasn't a naughty boy from a borstal, we just chartered it with a crew a few times
