Redevelopment at the Folly

That artists' impression looks, well frankly rather biased / optimistic; so they're really going to have trees in front of a lot of the hotel room windows which look out over the river, and what height is the artists' perception based upon, to have all the rooflines magically coincide with the background trees ?!

Many of the trees already exist on the site and the site slopes upwards away from the river. You can see the existing buildings which are about equivalent to two stories are well below the treeline/skyline.

It could be far worse. Some moronic bozo might park one of these there:

I feel truly sorry for the people of Gibralta, among whom are fellow forumites; when we describe cruise liners etc as ' a block of flats ' someone must have been listening !

Still as far as parking it by the Folly, they could sell tickets to watch the attempt then even more expensive tickets to blow it up afterwards I suppose...

I expect the expensive flats and houses will be sold to people who will then proceed to moan about the disturbance from the pub and have it shut down.

Indeedy. Noise regs can be enforced retrospectively, beware the new neighbours when they sell on! There are boatyards that have closed for the same ' reason ' !
