I used to buy my occasional can of red diesel at a fiilling station in Gosport. This business has now been demolished so last Sunday I had to wait for ever at the fuel pontoon at Camper and Nicholsons while a flotilla of power boats filled their tanks.

Does anyone know of another filling station selling red diesel in the area?

Not sure where you will be travelling from. I know of an independent garage in Mid-Sussex which sell Red diesel by the can or will fill yours.

If it's only the occasional can, why not just buy diesel from a garage. Silly to wait while serious money is being saved!!

I'm sure I've read recently that modern road diesel is not good for our crude engines, not oily enough apparently.

my yard has had to give up selling red diesel because of the paperwork involved. it seems they would have to give full details of every purchaser to the government. and if that doesn't make you paranoid, what will?

If you insist on your diesel being coloured red why not buy white diesel and give it a shot of Red-ex? Seriously, tho' it depends on what you want it for. For most applications you can use gas oil ( as supplied for oil fired central heating systems). If you don't have that system find a friend who has.
