On our little 24ft Pegasus we don’t have the luxury of a fridge or much workspace, just a twin burner and sometimes we just want something simple from a can or pouch.
There are some great pot-noodle/rice style snacks and Stag chilli is on the list for sure, but what else can you recommend? Any particular curries?

We’ve always kept a few tins of the Marks and Spencer’s tinned curries and chicken in white sauce on board with some basmati rice as emergency rations. We have an oven (not sure if you have one?) and so we also keep a couple of bread mix packets in a plastic food box so with water and gas we can make bread (or bread rolls).

Don't forget tinned veg - potatoes, carrots, peas, spinach, sweet corn. Chick peas are particularly useful as they can go in a salad or be heated up in a stew.

I'm a fan of cod's roe in a can - Asda have it. Lovely fried.

Dried potato "smash" is good. Make up, mix with tuna & some reconstituted dried egg & fry - fish cakes!

We used to swear by dried egg in Oz - can you get it here?

You used to get potato salad in a can - is it still around?

We always have an emergency stache of ingredients to russel up the wife's families emergency chilli con carne receipe. Cans of Corn beef, baked beans, kidney beans and tomatoes plus a Schwartz chilli pack and chilli flakes to taste. If you are feeling malutrioned find a stray onion from the bilge.

(an edit) Ah yes can be eaten alone or with rice, potato, nachos, bread or tortilla wraps cooked in a dry frying pan

Similar to yourself, we don't have a fridge but tend towards veggi meals aboard unless we catch some fish. Personally have no time for tinned ready made stews / curries - find them far too salty and just dirty. As for the Fray Bentos - horrific abomination of a "meal".

Do you have a pressure cooker? That opens the option of dried lentils / quinoa / stews / curries....

Our staples are Coconut milk, tinned toms, pasta, pesto, chickpeas, harrisa paste, lemon juice, plain flour, tahini (making hummus and flat breads underway makes for fantastic snack & super easy), good selection of spices (ras al hanout, cumin, chilli flakes, coriander seeds, paprika, garlic, ginger, lemongrass paste), jars of olives, cans of sweet corn / peas/ mackerel / mushrooms. dried popcorn kernels, Don't bother with tinned spuds/carrots - normal ones last ages and taste better.

I've been wondering about the whole vacuuming & sous vide thing, make whatever you might fancy for iron rations - or not so iron - supposed to last for ages. No need to use precious fresh water for cooking as the bags heat as well in salt water as they will in fresh.
These thoughts come to mind every time the machines come up in Aldi but I've yet to take the plunge.
Anyone had a go?

Hmmm, sounds like I’m going to need a bigger boat!

Plenty of great ideas, other than the Fray Bentos which I have awful memories of on caravanning trips in my childhood.
