We will be returning to the UK next month to pack up and collect paperbacks and pampers, as well as attempt to obtain a number of boat equipment almost as long as the line of pampers we’ll need.
As we will miss the SBS this year, I would very much like to do all our shopping at one chandler and thus hope to save a few pennies and time!. Could anyone suggest a good place where I will be able to obtain advise as well as anything from an Avon tender to shackles from a heater to a charger to........endless...
Ideally somewhere in the south, Southampton is only 2 hrs away so that is fine.

Thanks in advance
Julian

Why not do all your shopping on-line now, so that the goodies will be ready on your return?

Recently,I have used Yachting Universe, AKA stephensails on the YM forum. he has been very compeditive on price, and lets face it, look at the stick he'd get if he did a bad deal for anyone on one of the forums!

I have always used Quaywest in Poole http://www.quaywestonline.co.uk/ If you are able to send them a list beforehand they will let you know price/availability even for goods they don't list. Very helpful people but they don't have a fully stocked 'shop' for you to visit and browse.

At sea somewhere.

Two points. Yachtparts of Plymouth have a 20% off day in a few weeks time. (can't remember the date, but you can find them online.) Even outside their sale day they will match most any online/other chandlers price and are usually very helpful. Send them a list of what you need and they will produce an estimate.

I have no connection except as a (too frequent for my wife?) customer, but you could always mention my name to Andy who runs it and see if it helps...

thanks all. List's are being prepared and sent out to the above recommendations. I realize that internet purchasing is the way to go, but you know there is nothing like purchasing something over the counter and being able to ask basic questions there and then. I just hope that the corner store has not been interneted, i do look forward when going to the UK to just pop out and buy a finger of fudge!.
thanks again.
