As the title! The existing frame etc. is fine; just needs new canvas. I'd appreciate recommendations based on recent work; staff change, and this is something where exactly who does the work matters. Capricious is at Titchmarsh, so people need to be based near there or be willing to travel for measuring and fitting. Some idea of what people have paid would be useful as well - it's 14 years since I last had one made, and the people who made it are 400 miles away! I'd go back to them very happily, but I think that travelling costs from Largs would be a bit OTT. I'm looking for good quality canvas, with transparent front panels.

Just had one made by Kate at Dolphin, getting it fitted in just over a week. Not cheap - was over £1,200 I think. But they have a good reputation and I am expecting it to be high quality.

In Titchmarsh think you have options of high end pricing, Dolphin and Elite or Advantage then Mussets.

I'm currently having a sprayhood made and baulked at the high end prices so chose Mark Self at Advantage in Brightlingsea.

I've previously had Dolphin make canvas (by the chap who now runs Elite) and they did a good job but now I can't justify their pricing, when I feel Advantage produce an equally good product, with basically the same materials.

I'd suggest you walk round the pontoons and see for yourself, lots of examples of all of them.

I'm at Walton and I use Mark Self of Advantage Sails. He is very good and reasonably priced. He is based at Brightlingsea and trained at Dolphoin Sails. He frequently travels to Titchmarsh and Walton, Halls yard and Bedwells. He has repaired my sprayhood, made me a new fully battened main and entended the stackpack to accomodate it. He has looked after my sails for 10 years and I keep going back to him as I'm very satisfied with his work and prices. Most people I know use Advantage Sails.

Csll paul grey at elite yacht covers.excellent quality

Elite replaced our sprayhood using the original frame - this is its second season. The single best thing is the upgrade to optically clear view panels - just like glass - you can properly see when seated and keeping watch.
