It's time next year to drag the boat out (first time in the UK) to scrape, antifoul, etc. Solent area ideally, but could go up to 50 miles east or west of there.

I'm after recommendations of places that don't charge a small fortune for a lift/scrub/block-off for a week or two. Happy to do it in the spring/summer if there are places that do good deals.

15m long with 2.1m draft.

All suggestions welcome.

Most marinas have liftout facilities and the cheapest time is during the summer when they offer special rates for short term power wash and antifouling.

If your really only want scrape clean paint anodes and put back in why not do it at Sealift? They even do the work for you!

Yes, I did consider that, but I think I'd like to have it out of the water for a week or so, so that I can give the hull a polish and just give everything underneath a really thorough check over, but the marina want over £1,000 to do that, which to my mind is daylight robbery.

Are you a Raggie or Stinker ?

If you can get under the bridges at Bursledon then Foulkes (The Chandlery Barge) at the top of the Hamble is excellent value.

Have a look at Kingston on the IW if you are happy to wait until after fitting out season.

Good suggestion as they may be the cheapest in the Solent. Only drawback is you need to sleep somewhere if they dont allow it or you dont want to sleep on board.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, and yes I should have been more specific in the title (note to self).

Yarmouth have a "self service crane" lift, I think they lift it, you do the work, lick & scrub & paint and they relaunch.
A friend did his 30' Figaro like that for about a hundred and fifty quid.

I know this doesnt fit the OP brief, however...We made a holiday of lifting out to coppercoat this May and went to St Helier. Much cheaper than south coast for a lift out. Needed to rent a cradle as the yard only operate the lift and independent businesses rent cradles and do work for owners. Living on the boat in the boat park was easy, good facilities nearby, choice of chandlery and interesting place to spend a couple of weeks.
PM me for St Helier contacts if it's of interest. Lift out prices are on the Jersey harbours website.
