Recommendations for first family motorboat please

and if going back to the main topic about family motorboat in around 30ft, does anyone have experience how Bavaria sport range fits here.
like Bavaria Sport 32 or hardtop 32HT.
There is also 33 version (with separate cabin door).
seem to be very attractive package, though people comment that Sealine has better build quality.

When I looked at the Bavaria's wasn't impressed with the fit - loose trim panels and big gaps. I felt that in a chop they could shake and rattle a bit, although I never took one out on the water

I'm on my second Bavaria, both bought new. Currently have an S40 hardtop. I simply do not recognise this as a description of the build. They're certainly built to a price, for sure, but well engineered.

I would certainly say you know a lot more than me about them then - only speaking as I saw, it was at a boat show and the first year they came to UK.. Never looked at one again, so perhaps they improved massively.

That's like saying you saw a 1979 Fiesta at a motor show. Very thin steel, never drove one of course, but you wouldn't touch a modern Ford with a bargepole.....

There was recently a 40ft Bav mobo for sale/sold at an inland brokerage near Windsor . Low mileage and mainly used as a holiday cottage. Dated from around 2015 and for circa £200k looked a reasonable buy with usual kit compared to some other marques. Clearly more attractive than slab sided Sealine 43 or such like . I guess an equivalent Princess might be more but if you are looking for what might be termed a Solent boat with trips to sunny Jersey etc to fuel up I think Bav might be attractive at the price for many . This comes down I suspect to usual conundrum if looking to buy any 40ft boat at a certain price point be it sail or motor. If I was looking for any Bav sport I would have a long discussion with Clipper and see what they have by way of stock boats - seems the way to go if you want nearly new traditionally at least.

True I guess, although I was comparing with similar boats of it’s era. The salesman kept talking about them being the “Bentley or Mercedes “ of their class, which they certainly weren’t (although Skoda own Bentley so.....hmmm,.....)

I suspect their build quality improved enormously since then.
