Recommendation for a surveyor in NE England?

I have a friend who is in the process of buying a 7/8 year old GRP sailing boat that is currently located in NE England. Can anyone give me a recommendation on a good local surveyor?

Well I used http://www.northeastyachtsurveys.co.uk

When buying a 20 year old boat last year after a recommendation from here. Fiona was efficient and did what she said she was going to do. I haven't found any issues on the boat that she didn't mention and the survey provided a good list for work on the boat. In fact now you mention it I may dig it out to see what I still haven't done!

I think the caveat as lots of people have pointed out on here is the fact that they don't test the engine etc so its not a 100% guarantee.

Bit scant on detail I'm afraid but my first boat was surveyed by a guy called Gooden (Goodwin?) in Whitby who was both very thorough and competitively priced - best survey I have had to date. Maybe worth an inquiry at Coates Marine who knew him.
