Recommend an LED Headtorch/Headlight Please

I particularly liked a Petzl which instead of the elastic band, had two lengths of very thin rope with a sort of twisting spring to keep it tight around the head: both in case of rain or very hot sweating temperatures it is definitely more confortable. I thought the spring mechanism would not last long but was pleasantly surprised.

I have tried many, both cheap and premium, the best (by far) that I have tried is the Fenix HL60R Rechargeable Head Torch, 2 x red leds plus it uses a 18650 lithium ion battery which will last a day on a medium setting.

depends what you want it for. For close up - not distance - try the PETZL e-lite

It isn't massively bright, but when I'm sailing at night I always keep one around my neck.

Alpkit again. I have one each of the Viper and Gamma. When the battery box of the Gamma lost a clip they sent me a new one, no quibble.

I have a number of Petzls.... one is the latest Tikka with a Cree(?) LED....

One is an older one with the row of 4 'traditional' LEDs.... It was worn almost every night watch on my last sea passage (44 days) .... threw a bit of a hissy fit towards the end of that... dried it out.. still works although you can see rust through the clear plastic sides.....

And Petzl have a lifetime replacement warranty which I have had honoured ( bought in local shop ) on one that I did manage to destroy.....

Oh - that looks good - monster lumens output ~ 950lm and swappable battery. Not cheap mind.
