Hi all

I know that this has been covered before but I am having a senior moment with all the search engines in finding the search light that I was interested in. I am sure it was nite tracker but do not seem to be able to find their web site that listed all the available lamps or have I spelt it wrong or was it another one that was recommend ed. I have looked at the aquasignal 12 volt but its plug in only. Utimately I am looking for one that has a long battery life and usage (2 to 3 hours), can be used while on charge (12v cig lighter) adjustable beam and dual power ie high and low power so it does not kill night vision

Or am I just dreaming that something like this exists

Most of the "Bean Gun" rechargeable lights ... Nite Tracker style are not useable while charging for good reason. The charge power pack is 12v at anything from 500mA to 1A rating. But the actual battery in the light is a 6V, 4 A/hr SLA. This needs a small circuit to drop charge V to about 7.4V. So when you plug in charger plug - it opens the contact to disconnect the SLA from the lamp. So that charge goes to SLA and not overload charger but running a high power bulb.

I do have one Chinese job (well most are anyway !) that will run the light while charging - but then it drags the SLA well down as charger cannot supply enough power. The wife effectively destroyed the SLA in a matter of few months by doing that too often.

The Nite tracker and others seen in Chandlers catalogues are the same as this ?

but of course in a Marine colour !

That little beauty cost 7 quid in local supermarket ... not the XX that many Swindleries want to charge.

To the rear at right corner - can be seen a battery pack out of it ... 6V 4 A/hr. That battery lasted about 18 months before wifes charge regime overcame it !! (They cost about 6 quid out here ... near same as the whole light !)
