Here's a repro shot from archive, of a charter boat somewhere in the Really Western Isles, having taken refuge during a wild day or two. Regrets, if the quality is poor.

Those with very sharp eyes - or long memories - may spot that the vessel is NOT sitting on her bottom on top of the sand hummock, but standing on her keel bulb.

I'm assured by the RYA's recent Penny Haire that the shot is genuine, and is the work of a 'Zero to hero' young YM whose confidence exceeded his prudence.....

Put on your almond rocks and daisy roots
Brush your Hampstead Heath, wear your whistle-and-flute
Lots of lah-de-dahs and Cockneys here
Look alive and get out of here
Get your skates on mate, get your skates on mate
No bib around your Gregory Peck today, hey!
Drop your plates of meat right on the seat

I know the boat and the incident . . .

The boat is a Sigma 33C with a tandem wing keel, which is what it is standing on.

The occupants were helicoptered off and the boat sat there for 24 hours in a F8+ until a fishing boat came and towed her off.

The only damage was to the rudder.
