Readers' Boats....Warning - LOTS OF PICS!

Grey Goose - Hanse 400e

Here's a picture of Grey Goose taken during the Little Ship Club Fast Cruise on a beautiful day in early December 2008. Moored up at the Folly Inn for a party that night and we left a trail through the ice in the river as we left the next morning! Thank goodness for the Webasto heating ...
(and we saw Pixie, who started this whole thread off, on the Solent over the weekend of 5/6 December this year)

Light Winds, Sept 09

Courtesy of a good friend with a camera in the right place and time. Here we are just gliding along, three short months ago.
Hard to believe that it was T shirt weather so recently.

Evolution 25

This is my boat, still on it's mooring...

We were on our way to Cowes that day, it was a bit breezy out there, we were taking it easy (and slowly) and you went past to leeward, we exchanged tacks a few times and then you went screaming off down wind, which looked far more fun than beating :)

Kindred Spirit

A 1994 Cornish Yawl, new to my dad and I in December 2009. Been ashore since we first saw her; will be launching in early April 2010 after some mechanical renovations.

The only Cornish Yawl, as far as we know, with a gaff mizzen.

Photo from the previous owner.

Ain't she pretty?

Here is our Challenger 35 'Bajan Phoenix' (yes, she sort of rose from the ashes here 12 years ago after a fire on board) - she is the aft cockpit version of the Warrior 35 designed by Angus Primrose, and built by Trident Marine in Portchester 19 years ago.

And here are a couple of photos of Stormy Weather, a lovely old S & S yawl built in 1931 by the Nevins Yacht Yard in City Island, New York, and sailing here in the Bequia Easter Regatta in 1993.

Her previous owner (who I sailed with in these excellent photos by Tim Wright) found her in Tortola in a rather sad state in the late 70's, re-built her on a shoe string (including totally re-framing her, while keeping all of the original mahogany hull planking), and then proceeded to do almost 40 transatlantics with her before selling her to an Italian gentleman (who then re-built her again, no expense spared).

This boat can sail directly to windward

Not many people realise that if you connect a wind-turbine to an underwater propeller you can get a boat that sails directly into the wind that drives it.

This is a picture of my experimental boat I built a few years ago.

It's dismantled now, but sometimes I wish once more I was on it when I'm battling to windward on my conventional yacht!

You must be joking

Are you kidding? I just don't believe this.

OK, I cracked. After a year or so looking on this thread here, finally here's a few pics of our "Big Girl", Hinewai, a Roberts Mauritus ketch stretched to 45ft

Built in Nelson, New Zealand, 1985.

Her Moari name is pronounced Hie - ney - why (please note all Americans, it is NOT Hine-way) and means "Daughter of the Water".

Sailed from Melbourne, Australia to Alanya, Turkey 2007 - 2009. Currently on the hard in Alanya, will be sailed back to the UK 2010.
