Can anybody share any latest news about this. Is a route following the 1 deg East meridian still the preferred option? Planning a trip into The Crouch from Bradwell again this week. I took a real pounding last Friday on my way back to Bradwell punching my way out to the Swin Spitway into the N Easterly. Serious waves ... at least they were for my little boat. I was glad of a new engine but did get very wet.

The last posts I can find about this are 12 months old.

Grateful for any recent experience of the Raysan.

Tillergirl and I have been very restricted in our ability to survey as yet this summer due to the persistent strong E/NE winds. ROcking and rolling doesn't make for an accurate survey... SW Sunk is always No1 priority, and it's been three (?) cancelled attempts so far. We can only survey around HW so we only get Springs to go on...

I meant to report back after the weekend. We went across on Saturday pm. We followed 1.59.900 across the shallow bit. Min depth we saw was 2.3m (fairly briefly) at 16:05, about 1/3 of the way across. HW Whitaker 17:59 4.3m, according to the tidal curves in Absolute Tides there would have been 3.6m at the Whitaker at that time. PLA app tide gauges were saying 3.36 at Walton and 4.25 at Southend. Surge levels +/- 0.1m at various Essex/Suffolk localities. We coul have crossed a good deal further west but hadn’t done it for some time and they were small tides.

It would ahve been pretty bumpy out to there today as well. Please see the download. That is the latest data. We will do it again once the easterlies go away: sorry typo IF the easterlies go away.

The last survey was in September 2022. I would be surprised if anything drastic changed. The CHA will be moving the buoys, I guess when they have finished their servicing regime.
