Does anyone know for certain whether the Raymarine Yachtsense Link router can act as a wifi gateway for NMEA e.g. for use with apps that can receive NMEA over Wifi such as Navionics, OpenCPN etc.?

I'm referring to this device: YachtSense Link | Smart Boating Solutions | Raymarine

As far as my research tells me it doesn't have that capability - no mention on either the product pages or in the manual.

If all you want is NMEA to wifi, that's a very expensive solution.
It isn’t. I want to know if an already fitted unit will provide that functionality, or whether there is a need to add an additional NMEA WiFi Gateway device from another manufacturer such as Yacht Devices, Digital Yacht etc.

Does the Link have the capability?

What about one of these. I have one but have not fitted it yet. I understand a few on here have them.

Multiplexers
Thanks. If putting a separate device onto the network for this purpose, I think I’d go with the Yacht Devices WiFi gateway as it is compact and seems well featured.

But preference is to use the already installed Yachtsense Link if it has the capability!

Sorry, never used one, so i don't know. The Raymarine blurb is typically vague, i'd send them an email.

Finally managed to get a response from Raymarine who have confirmed that the Yachtsense Link is not capable of outputting NMEA data over Wifi, except to their own Raymarine app.

I have the yacht devises gateway. Works flawlessly so far. (3 years). Mine is N2k not raymarine but I guess they are the same except the plug format.
