Raymarine wind speed inaccurate

I have a C80 system. The wind speed showing on my instruments seems to be very inaccurate both for true and apparent. The direction is not much better so I am relying on the Windex. The anemometer turns and so does the little wind direction sensor. Has anyone had the same problem and cured it?

Yes. It probably just needs cleaning and a service, unless the bearings need replacing. Trip up the mast before the winter weather sets in!

It is not a difficult task to do yourself. There are numerous previous posts on how to clean and service it, with photos, on this forum. Just need to search for them before you get stuck in! Also have a search on the old Raymarine forum as well.

Spare parts from ebay or bearing specialists.
