My wind instrument has stopped showing speed, but still shows direction.
Any hints or tips on where to start looking? I've just looked up the price for a new transducer, I'm hoping this is just a faulty cable or something ?

Maybe something else completely

Do you still have three cups at the masthead?

Here the cockatoos, primarily white (and yellow crested) enjoy the tussle with removal of one cup.

Once you have checked the obvious, there is a place where bad connections develop inside the display unit. Take the screws out of the back and remove the back panel. It has a number of pronglike terminals that insert in to the pcb. Mine was verdigris-ed up here. Electra spray and all has been well since.
I now have a problem where the wind instrument work fine stand alone but when the plotter is powered up we get peaks of silly high wind speeds that are not real. Suspect the plotter is faulty and time for new. One of several faults going on

Thanks all, bit of a false alarm in the end. Turned out I'd accidentally switched to VMG mode. Coupled with a dirty log impeller which isn't spinning, it led to a zero on the wind instrument too.
So nothing actually broken, just a reminder to pull the log at some point!

Just fixed my over reading wind instrument. Was a bad data cable on the network. Swapped out for a spare. Also similar issue on Radar cable. Electra spray on connections seems to have d9ne the trick. Now got everything working again?
