I've been trying to calibrate the ST60 (with a ST50masthead unit) after remounting for this season but despite following the user guide instructions;

Swich on unit
Complete two slow turns of the boat
Once completed two beeps will sound
Done

I have now been able to get to the two beeps bit. Last year I replaced the bearings but refitted it and it appeared to work correctly for most of the season. Any ideas or thoughts would be appreciated before I attempt to contact the Raymarine customer support (not had much luck with them in the past)....

Thanks

I had this problem and, to cut a long story short, apparentlyt it wouldn't get to the 2 bleeps bit because it was already happy that it was calibrated!
I guess you need to do a full reset on it if you want to repeat the process - sorry I don't have the book with me to tell you how to do that.

When I had a similar problem it turned out that the cable from the transducer to the instrument needed renewing.

Thanks, I'll have a look at the wiring and a full reset.

At present, the wind direction is all over the place despite my best efforts.

......Or maybe I'll buy a new Garmin setup! :)

From what I remember you have to press two or three of the buttons, can't remember which ones, to put he instrument into calibaration mode. I think this has to be with the boat head to wind. Then you do the two circles and that's it.

The last time we had problems with our wind instruments it turned out to be that we had connected the fluxgate compass to the wind instrument and the masthead transducer to the compass display. The cables have the same colours so it took us ages to find it!
