To transport my boat by road I had to take down the mast and remove the radome. I chose to do this by disconnecting the radar cable at the dome itself leaving the cable inside the mast.
Come to re-connect it today and there is no problem with the signal wires which connect using a small plug. However try as I may I cannot connect the power wires and the configuration of the connection doesnt tie in with the owners manual that I have got. Its easy to see where the wires go but its been impossible to open the connector to insert the wires. And this time I remembered to photo the connection before disconnecting the dome so I know that I am not missing a bit as the manual suggests.
Before disconnection and attempted reconnection photos .
The owners manual that I have shows a later connection using a plug but as the first photo shows it was not connected that way originally and yes it did work ok. It looks as if the connections are via jaws that clamp the bare wire but can I open them? No I cant.
