I have a RL70c+ chart/radar etc with a FB repeater L770D. I have acquired a c-map MAX chart of the south coast UK/Northern France etc (orange colour chip) but the unit does not recognise it? The Unit(s) work fine with a more local c-map+ chip (black chip).

Been looking on the Raymarine website - seems I may need a software/firmware update?? but not sure. Can this be done via download or do Raymarine (agents) have to do this?

Anyone else got one of these operating successfully with C-map MAX chip? Or are these completely incompatible?

The Max chip in question is M-EW-M210.05 dated 13/05/09.

If anyone wants a C-Max chip as above Roscoff - Withernsea - PM me...LOL Appears its no good to me - bu**er!
 
Hello Paul - yeah my thoughts exactly. Didn't realise you had exactly the same set up - should have asked...lol. I will contact them and get the right one this time!
 
I have got the Solent one and that works fine (but thanks anyway) I want a UK south coast / CI and North France one. The boat is in Brixham, so my solent one is not much use most of the time! Hopefully MES (as VPaul has sugested) will do some sort of exchange or update or something....
 
I also used to have an RL70, apart from the screen size being limited, I thought it was great and works in a very similar way to the newer 'C' & 'E' series.

Before you sell the chip, you may be able to part-ex for an NT chip from Marine Superstore. Navionics won't do this but C-Map used to. The NT+ chip of the South Coast is great and will include channel islands.
