I have recently purchased an old boat which comes with a raymarine evolution P70s pilot (working), Raymarine old 60 series wind, an E120 plotter (working purely as a plotter) and a second E120 not installed. I want to install a Garmin DST 810, a SeatalkNG network and connect all together. Will it work and what to I need to buy?

Have a look at the QUARK-Elec range of what could be described a multi plex or signal combiners.

You may need nmea 0183 and Seatalk converted into SeatslkNG.

The E120s connect using SeatalkHS.

You will need an NMEA2000 backbone / SeatalkNG adapter for the Garmin DST 810 and a SeatalkNG to NMEA2000 cable from the Evolution as well as a Seatalk2 cable from the master E120.

Yes it can be done - I did it on my old boat. But in the event of any problem you are entering a world of pain with each vendor blaming the equipment of the other - if you can even get them to talk to you. Plus repairs on the old Raymarine kit will be problematic - they had no spare parts to repair a radar at 7 years old and it being surface mount using special components, I couldnt find any one else to help, even MoD trained specialists!

If you can pay for it, bin the lot and re-equip with kit from just one manufacturer
