I'm having trouble connecting my Raymarine HybirdTouch to my iPad via wifi !
I can see the chart plotter on my wifi list on the iPad it comes up as RM123455678 (lots of numbers after the RM) but when I try to connect them the iPad asks for a passphrase in order to connect them together? I have no idea what the passphrase can be? Can anyone help me out here? Is there a standard passphrase for the raymarine units? The previous owner had it all fitted, all I have is the fitting instructions. The instruction manual is on the chart plotter itself, I've ordered a printed copy which has arrive but that doesn't tell me what the passphrase is either? I suspect it would have be in the original box that it came with? What am I doing wrong?

I'm trying to connect it to my iPad to sync routs across via the Navonics App I've recently purchased.

No problem, you can change the Wi-Fi name and password in the settings.
It’s not terribly intuitive is it?
When you send a route from your Ipad or other fruit based device, that’s even more clumsy...but shout if you need advice on that.

Much appreciated - I most probably will take you up on that!
Are you a Raymarine tech consultant or just very experienced with these systems?
Oh no, not at all but I had the e127 previously and while I loved the Ray View / Ray Control and waypoint/route sharing feature - it is very clunky and some of the settings are buried. Why there’s no ‘Smart features’ button for the 21st century or built in memory for file transfer or near field route sharing is beyond me...

I’ve just had Zeus’s 3 installed on my boat which is better but crikey, it could be so much smarter...Raymarine, Garmin, B&G better watch out, if they don’t want to lose out to convergence.

So that all worked - thank you!
So I,m now linked via WiFi with the chart plotter but now it’s telling me that the card in the plotter isn’t compatible to sync my saved routes on my iPad Across the plotter :dread::dread: I’m guessing I’m going to need to buy a comparable Navonic’s card to put in my plotter make all this work?! :(

I couldn’t sync routes from iPad to plotter, when I asked Navionics they said it will only work if all charts are up to date, I need to renew my subscription and update my chart.

Thanks for the reply!
I've just downloaded the Navionics app so that should be up to date. I'm keen to try out the dock-to-dock autorouting feature I downloaded the more expensive HD version of the app to get this feature but now it looks as though I've got to spend even more £££'s on a new card for my plotter to transfer the routes! I suspect each year I'll have to update them both if I want to continue to sync them - the app on my pad and the card in the plotter ££'s I'm guessing the Navionics head office must be somewhere in the Gulf of Aden, Somalian!! :pirate::pirate: !!

What card is in the Raymarine unit, (size and type), and is there a spare slot for a second card?
If you’ve got a recent copy of raarine software, like lighthouse 2 then you should be able to update through your iOS device and the Navionic boating app.
If you’ve got a spare micro SD card slot then put a card in 32gb or less, and try to copy to that card....

Great information thank you Nigel !
Yes I have a spare slot in the plotter - I checked last night I'm sure it has two slots, the software was updated this month (by the dealer from who I purchased the boat) It's running on lighthouse 2
I'll take a new blank 32gb micro SD card down there and try transferring my routes to that.... :encouragement:
I'll let you know how it goes Friday when I go back down there - thanks again!! ;)

Just got to the bottom of the problem (called the dealer to ask which card he put in the plotter) He put a C Map card in so that's why the Navionic's on my iPad isn't understanding whats on the plotter...:hopeless::hopeless:
I'm guessing even if I managed to transfer my routes over to the blank card, my plotter wont be able to understand them using the C Map charts?

Yes you would need the Navionics charts! Sorry, poor assumption and I should have asked...

Nigel you've been really helpful and to be honest I wouldn't have known anyway! I only found out today when I was doing some digging and called the dealer to check when he explained that they had supplied me with the C-Map charts and not Navionics! I took it as a given that I had Navionics in there myself, I thought Raymarine only worked with the Navionics charts?! I've now ordered the correct Navionics Micro SD for my plotter so it will all hook up, I can use the Dock-to-Dock autorouting as well as 3D charts etc!! I'm expecting delivery on Friday just in time for the weekend....:D:D
Thanks again for all your help - I'll let you know how I get on......:encouragement::encouragement:

This is £333 anywhere else!!
