I have one of these which I bought a couple of years back but did not use because I decided not to keep the boat that it was intended for, so I have at last decided that I would be better to get it out of the cupboard and try to sell it. At the time that I purchased it I had to go back and change the ACU100 control unit for a much more expensive ACU 200 but I can no longer recall why, it was not just power as the boat I intended to use it in was only 26'. The sensor unit, cabling kit and display head all remained the same. The Raymarine website does not give me a clue but I think it may have had something to do with the rudder sensor capability. It would help me determine a fair price if I could establish what the much larger 200 control box does that the 100 doesn't.
Anyone fitted one who can tell me what the difference is other than boat size?

Not certain but my first thought would be the clutch output needed for a below-decks drive. Maybe the ACU100 doesn’t have one so is only suitable for tiller or wheel drives?

Basically, the ACU 100 is for light displacement hydraulic steering, tiller drives or wheel drives. The ACU 200 is for hydraulic steering, mechanical linear drives and mechanical rotary drives, all subject to maximum displacements.

Pretty much what Pete said in post #2.

Thank for the information, it tallies with my recollection, I should perhaps have paid more attention at the time.

LoneHort, it is my plan to sell the package which is complete with everything including cabling except the actual drive but with the ACU 200 it should be compatible with anything, You can also get a wireless remote for it, however I would expect to finish up asking more than the £400 limit on here and I am reluctant to split it into its 4 main components. Over the next few days I will get the bits unboxed and checked over,I have not looked at them for a couple of years, I will then write a description and history, perhaps take some photos and try to work out a fair price, while they were not used I have kept them until they are just about out of warranty. If you were to PM me with an email address I could send you the full details once they are complete. That depends on the weather.
