I wonder if anyone can help me with a problem I'm having with my Raymarine E80 before I get out the manual and look for myself. I can't seem to be able to select waypoints or routes. When I press 'goto options' the 'select waypoint' or 'route options' words appear above the function keys as normal but they can not be selected. Any Ideas??

Do you have a GPS fix? No fix, and it may not let you select a GoTo. Bit of a guess really as I haven't had to use mine much over the last few months and am a bit rusty.

Or call Raymarine- I did when mine went wrong and they were very helpful ( they replaced it!). Not had to find out Garmins support yet.

From what you have said I doubt the manual will cover it other than if it is doing something odd try a reset.

Raymarine have a really excellent online Helpline. They will even attempt to help on out of the Ark stuff like mine .

Hi, sorry a bit late to pick on this thread, so you may have read the manual by now. If you cannot select waypoints or routes made up from a waypoint list it would appear that the E80 cannot read them, either from memory or the Navionics card.

I would suggest first that you removed the card either when the unit is switched off or by executing the, 'Remove Card' option. Unlike the Cmap previous, you need to treat these more like a live flash drive.

Check that the card is in the right way round etc. re insert and power up. Check that waypoints exist by looking at the chart with display waypoints on. If they are there on the chart you should be able to select them and routes created previously. If they are not showing any waypoint icons, I think your card has been corrupted.

Carry out a 'factory reset' which will clear all data. Place a new waypoint and name it. Then go back to your 'goto Waypoints' and see if it appears as single item on a list of one. This should fix it and if you take care with the card and always shut down the unit by pressing the power button for three seconds it should not happen again unless there is a pucka fault.

If so, then your back to Raymarine tech support and you'll need a returns No. from their service dept.

Hope this helps if not too late.

Thanks Roger, I haven't looked at the manual yet but I will next time I'm down at the boat. All my current waypoints are displayed on the screen but I can't select them. I'll try the factory reset if all else fails.

Thanks to all for your suggestions.

Weird if you have a fix.
Before reset, check chart setup. Also that it's not as slave, should be set as 'master' and also set to local not system if dual station.

good luck.
