Plenty of choice about what to use down below - I use a RayNav 300 below to repeat the instruments and to provide GPS to my cockpit-mounted C70. A Yeoman plotter using your paper charts is a good option not mentioned here.
Note that the latest free software release 4.25 includes tide animation and partial support for Platinum charts i.e. you can display photos and pilot info but not satellite photo overlay and 3d view (E screen only).
