I went there on Saturday afternoon, quite a nice stroll along from the Rocks through ancient woodlands and a very interesting newly planted massive field of Asparagas, not ready this year, but next?.... Perish the thought. The Ramsholt as others have said was very Farrow and Ball coloured and looked like every other Gastro Pub that I have been in, loads of Staff, but obviously training, it was a shame about the weather, which again was disappointing as usual, the grass out front had been cut and a one day game of cricket was being played and it all looked very tidy and cared for, the food looked good on the menu, probably on the high side price wise, but if it is good then in my view it is probably worth it, we didn't try it as we had plans to eat on the boat.
Just a point on the Deben entrance, on the way in, I calculated that I would/should not see less than 1.9m under my keel at about high water and that included a bit for confidence, it went down to .9m and I was a bit concerned, however on the way out it was spot on or a bit more than shown on the chart let. I had obviously gone off line by not much on the way in, I tracked out on about 185 deg from the green to the red and it was unremarkable, mostly about 2m or more under the keel.
On talking to someone later they said that the channel was very narrow this year, about 8m wide at its narrowest? So it is probably best to keep it tight.

Another factor might be that the tides seemed to be down on thier predicted heights this weekend, I rocked up on the Saturday at the Tidemill when the depth over the cill should have been more than 2m according to the website but I had a 20 minute wait before gingerly crossing the cill with 1.9m on the guage.

The tide definately didn't make this weekend.
If you're on the flood you're likely to be swept down off the line toward the South/Harwich direction and our experience so far this year is that it shelves very rapidly, whereas on the ebb you're pushed north/Bawdsey where it seems to shelve more gently. Keeping on a direct line between the buoys is vital and making big compensations for the tide. It's fun this year!

We should be picking up a mooring there tomorrow evening but at those prices, a meal ashore is out of the question.

It sounds like a similar deal to the Anchor in Hullbridge; Gentrified like a London wine bar with prices to match, drinkers only reluctantly allowed in. Still, it's a business, not a service and the Anchor is always packed and raking it in. I should imagine the Ramsholt Arms will do the same.
